I bought this boat for my 6 year old son and I to ride in on our family river trip. (We purchased Intex River Run I tubes for everyone else and they held up wonderfully) There are a few things I would probably do different next time, but since this was our first trip there were things I didn't calculate it. This boat has a solid inflatable bottom...which means that when water gets in the boat going over the rapids, you have to bail it out. The idea of having oars was appealing but given the location of the holders it was impossible to sit in the back or front and row; not to mention if I had the oars sticking out going down the rapids they would simply become a hazard and not a navigational aid. They did help in the calm water but when I used it to keep us from colliding with a boulder the front of it broke in two. The biggest disappointment was the fact that we lost air and needed to pull over and blow it up again. We did not see any visible holes, but there was something letting the air out slowly. We will not try to patch it, I wouldn't trust it a second time. It did last the 2 hour trip and was bumped around a bit, so I would recommend it for calm waters but not for river use.
